Kinda just an amble here at first. Do have news, I swear, but there's probably some context here I'm missing, and you want the whole thing. The whole way this caravan got put together seemed a bit strane to me. I've actually done this opium run before, so I was surprised that there's a lot of dregs along who've got some muscle and not a whole lot else. Usually these things are kept in the family, and you need a lot of connections to keep getting the work. The people they've got here are just ... ordinary guards. Mean, we don't have any opium with us so we don't need muscle that's always looking over their shoulders for thieves, but we're carrying a fuckload of gold. Which, you know, probably needs smarter people around.
I'm probably the smartest muscle they've got right now, and I'm standing out a lot more than I'd like just by pointing out shit they should be watching for. Zhivka himself gave me 'command' of the night watch because he's trusted his lieutenant with the day watch. It's made it a bit harder to talk because I've been asleep in the wagons the past two days, and keeping a bunch of shits in line the past three nights.
Anyway, yeah, basically this is a bullshit way to run a caravan if I'm coming out on top here. There were really competent guards in those gambling dens, and they're nowhere to be found right now. They didn't come with us, so they've still got to be in Norey, right?
I've picked some stuff up though, mostly from when I've been outside the main tent while they're playing cards before sleep. So we're going to take this money to someone called Silvya, and then from there they're going to put it on a boat. Near as I can figure the money will be delivered to The Fickle Pickle Inn and Brothel. I'm pretty sure we're talking about something close to the waterfront here, and I'm half-convinced the whole lot of us are going to get stabbed before we make it delivery, wheeling this much money into the shittiest part of Colndor.
Might want to get those agents on the way? I'm not sure how long it's going to stay there, and we're making good time out here.
