Quick decorating suggestion: Make sure that there's some mess on the floor at all times. Nothing says that your obedient little sister is straying from the golden path more than the start of some clutter. Not all at once though. A subtle build-up. Gotta make this whole thing purposeful since you've already got her dropping 'fuck' into stressed conversation. If the bad influence comes all at once they'll think subtle correction isn't drastic enough.

You've probably got this on your own though.

Hey! So basically, been a bit of an ass here not writing to you earlier than this. Mean, it's not like I've met you, but you know, no thank you note? Damn rude of me is what I'd call it. So yeah, this is basically my thank you for saving my ass back there.

Before I go though I've got something to add here. I know you've probably got a lot of dedicated people already, but I want to give you a pitch. Not for me, not ready for that myself. You're good people, but I'm still trying to get my own shit together. Nope, I'm pitching Lydia here. I know you're already using her in bits and pieces, here and there. Thing is, I'm pretty sure she's ready for bigger and better things. Me, I don't have work worth her talent lined up. Barely above the skull bashing level here. She's a fucking artist. And hey, I get that making sure she doesn't get herself dead is an important thing, but I think almost everybody underestimates just how good she is at surviving. Girl can survive just about anything in my opinion. Everything except being left out. She's already got a big brother who's making sure she stays alive, she needs someone to put her talents to use.

Anyway, yeah, that's my page here. Thanks a bunch!

[Filter: People Who Know Delia's Flying Away]

Don't really know everybody involved in this, and that's okay. Just a quick update, Onette just flew off with Delia. I think between all of us we managed to convince her that everything's going to be fine. I think the combination of her finally getting a family, and the whole "you get to fly on a Pegasus today" worked as well as it could? She wasn't really as quiet as she could've been, but, yeah, good as could be expected I guess.

Think Josiah and I should fade out in separate directions here to make the trail a bit colder. Don't know if there's anyone looking for her yet but maybe they shouldn't find us standing together where people saw a Pegasus fly away from.

So, Splithouse folks, I've got a quick poll: Am I bringing a three pound sacks of figs, a three pound sack of dried pineapple, or a five pound sack of dried apricots to the house? The captain I won them from gave me two days to figure out how I want my winnings, and I've got to take them in fruit. Since there's no way I'm getting through all of it by myself, and I've spent a day trying to decide, I'm opening it up to the people who will have to put up with the sack being around the house.

Think I found a taker, but the price is a bit ghastly. Thankfully, she's not the one who lost the bet.

Hey! So I was thinking. You've got a bunch of money rolling in right now. The backroom's sort of seen better days too. If I've been hearing things right, the craftspeople of Norey who cater to the wealthy here, they're having a slow season because half their buyers are in Riva right now. Mean, that's terrible for them. Some prices are getting slashed just to get things out the door.

So, yeah. There's some good stuff to pick up if you're interested. Good furniture, fixtures, art, all of this stuff's priced to move. And since it's a Monday night tonight, wouldn't be too hard to get away to check some of it out, huh?

I've got it bad, man. I've got it bad and there's not a damn person I can talk to about it. I just had the best fucking birthday, and I know that doesn't sound bad at all, but that's because I've got no idea what to do next.

So what's this thief girl up there like in person? Travelling through the mists with a Kilian who's got the full on personality of one of us, lived at the bottom rung of our respective societies and the like. Or however that works when there's like ten people around you. Bet that gets whole kinds of interesting up there.

Hope you're not in bed just yet.

The inside of Norey's walls never looked so good. The place seems a lot friendlier too.

Gotta say, I'm ready to tell you those stories. You know, in person.

[Filter: Lydia]

Figured you should know, I got put in a caravan back to Norey this morning. Should get there as fast as I got here, and I think all that stuff I did paid off. At least, scored me some points toward not being considered a shit.

[Filter: Jace]

Two questions: One, did you end up giving in and eating the pie? Two, if yes, is your stomach now haunted with mist ghosts?

Personally, I'm betting you're burping up mist while I'm writing this up, and swearing revenge on a balckberry bush. That's what I'm thinking.

[Filter: Fayre]

So yeah. I'm the last guard alive, and I plan to stay that way. When we got everything unloaded, they offered free inn rooms and services for all of us, and I said I had something to take care of. Had to dodge two tails. Never got to see the actual meeting that was supposed to take place later, but I managed to double back. Saw some muscle unloading rugs from the backroom in the dead of night, and I followed them to a back alley where the rolled the bodies out of 'em. All accounted for, throats slit end to end.

I waited around to see if there was anyone else going into or out of the inn. Couple of stragglers, and they came out cursing about no vacancy. This place is a front, looks like.

They'll look for me for a bit, I know way too much already. They weren't lying about the location either. All of the shit is at the Fickle Pickle.

[Filter: Fayre]

Kinda just an amble here at first. Do have news, I swear, but there's probably some context here I'm missing, and you want the whole thing. The whole way this caravan got put together seemed a bit strane to me. I've actually done this opium run before, so I was surprised that there's a lot of dregs along who've got some muscle and not a whole lot else. Usually these things are kept in the family, and you need a lot of connections to keep getting the work. The people they've got here are just ... ordinary guards. Mean, we don't have any opium with us so we don't need muscle that's always looking over their shoulders for thieves, but we're carrying a fuckload of gold. Which, you know, probably needs smarter people around.

I'm probably the smartest muscle they've got right now, and I'm standing out a lot more than I'd like just by pointing out shit they should be watching for. Zhivka himself gave me 'command' of the night watch because he's trusted his lieutenant with the day watch. It's made it a bit harder to talk because I've been asleep in the wagons the past two days, and keeping a bunch of shits in line the past three nights.

Anyway, yeah, basically this is a bullshit way to run a caravan if I'm coming out on top here. There were really competent guards in those gambling dens, and they're nowhere to be found right now. They didn't come with us, so they've still got to be in Norey, right?

I've picked some stuff up though, mostly from when I've been outside the main tent while they're playing cards before sleep. So we're going to take this money to someone called Silvya, and then from there they're going to put it on a boat. Near as I can figure the money will be delivered to The Fickle Pickle Inn and Brothel. I'm pretty sure we're talking about something close to the waterfront here, and I'm half-convinced the whole lot of us are going to get stabbed before we make it delivery, wheeling this much money into the shittiest part of Colndor.

Might want to get those agents on the way? I'm not sure how long it's going to stay there, and we're making good time out here.

[Filter: Lydia]

So. Yeah. Things came up, and my whole fuck up with all my friends ... well, yeah, I was offered a chance to make up for it. And, you know, it's not exactly going to be an easy thing. The whole task is getting me sent over to Colndor for a spell -- probably not long, quick trip with the weather this nice.

But yeah. Sucks.

I'm heading out probably tomorrow? Early morning, the whole deal. Was hoping that there's some way to see you again before I get on the road.
ofhighdegree: (Default)
[Filter: Fayre]

Okay, so I'm sitting in one of the dens, right? And one of the few guys in there with a complexion as white as mine. I'm just playing cards with some other people, and one of the brutes comes over all like, "You look like you could hold your own, and you obviously don't believe all the lies going on out there. How would you like some work?"

So I negotiated a bit, but gave in. Tried to make it look like I wasn't too eager, but was interested until I couldn't resist the chance.

Anyway, turns out it's getting hot for them here in Norey, and they're worried about keeping all of their money around as long as they have been. Tomorrow I'm helping to move some of their money onto an emptied opium caravan bound for Colndor.

Figure the boss will be around watching over everything to make sure his money gets where he wants it to go. Figure I can listen to him for a bit without drawing suspicions.

[Filter: Jace]

So. Big change, I guess. Fayre gave me a job here so that I can get back into her graces. 'tolerate' is about the same this as grace, right? Anyway, she's getting me involved here with protecting the crown. An Adveni gambling den runner might be involved and I'm checking him out.

Still in the shit, but, you know, might not get completely kicked out after all.

Also, who's that lady you were getting pretty concerned about?

[Filter: Franelcrew in Norey except Terrance]

So. Hey. Yeah. I'm in the House of Healing just above Catcher's Row. Lots of bruises. Jaw hurts like hell. Gonna be here a couple of days.

On a related note, Terrance is somewhere in Norey right now, and he's got an opium powder problem. I was going to try to get him off the stuff, but he figured out my little plan and yeah. He took me down. Lost about the last day, and I've got no idea where he's gone right now.

I'm going to rest up here since it seems like a clean enough place, and then I'm going to join whatever search is happening. I mean, he can take care of himself right now, but he's going to get himself in trouble sooner or later if he wants to keep this problem up.

... Yep. It's all ready. Shit.

Well, I've already told Lydia I'll be busy, so let's just get this started.

[Filter: Terrance]

So, how about another round on me? Just got some fresh gold in, and it's big enough that I figure I can treat you to a little more here without breaking the bank.

[Filter: Private]

Paid for in advance, and it's everything I need. Took a lot of work to get everything real setup so it'll work. Everyone's willing to work with me.

Just need to get it finished now. It'll work.

Ugh.
